Michelles illustratives Universum ist recht einfach und naiv und man erkennt ihre Illustrationen an ihrer sanften Pastellfarbpalette. Und die Augen ihrer Charaktere sind fast immer geschlossen - eine Signatur, die wirklich begann, weil es Michelle schwer fiel, genau die richtigen Augen zu zeichnen! Eine andere wichtige Sache für Michelle ist es, in ihrer Arbeit nicht zu protzig zu sein – eine menschliche Eigenschaft, die sie an anderen Menschen sehr schätzt, ist die Selbstironie und sie mag es auch in ihrer Arbeit, diese zu verdrehen.
