“Gondola” is a single photograph taking over a walk through the streets and bridges of Venice. Gondolas and their gondoliers were the main object of my curiosity and attention during my visit in Venice. Gondoliers are much more than an iconic symbol of this ancient city, but they perform a profession with many years of history. Gondoliers can be seen since very early in the morning, in their neat clothing, polishing their shiny gondolas, and adding small decorative elements to them, in order to set them up to navigate the city. “Gondola” aims to capture the last seconds prior the gondola passes below any given Venetian bridge, by captivating the observer by the shine of the gondola emphasised by the shiny and smooth water surface, transporting the observer to feel the presence at this unique and privilege perspective.
