I started painting very early, as my dad introduced me to drawing and painting with watercolors when I was just a few years old. I have been drawing and painting more or less since, but especially in the recent years I have intensified my practice; previously, I worked as a graphic designer, and always found so much joy whenever I could involve hand drawing in projects, which made me shift to working analog only.
It’s many things; I’m inspired by colors, nature, botanics and organic shapes. I love thrifting vintage books for inspiration, it can be everything from artist portraits to botanic encyclopedias. I also love to visit museums to gather new impressions and inspiration. Growing up, I would often visit impressionist/post impressionist museums in Europe such as Musée d’Orsay in Paris with my family, and it is definitely something that has influenced me a lot. I still go to these museums whenever I have the chance.
I’m quite nerdy about tea, and I used to work in a tea shop called Tante T in Copenhagen when I was younger. Now it’s actually part of my process, to always have good tea when I paint!
